I am married for 28 years and have 2 adult children. I was born in Arizona. I continued my studies with emphasis in Early Childhood Education.

I have 19 years of experience in the teaching field. I have been a certified Montessori teacher for the past 13 years and worked in one of the Montessori schools in the Bay Area. I also have experience in Administration and Supervision, working with teachers to help implement the Montessori Method.

We want to provide a quality education program that inspires them to create, discover and achieve. Keep in mind though, that the best education programs do more than just teach children how to count and read.

We want to work with you to make a real difference in your children's lives. We want each child to feel part of our group.

We will help them learn about the basic human aspects such as caring, courage, self-discipline, kindness, responsibility, trust, creativity. We will encourage them to respond compassionately to others during emotionally difficult moment. We also hope that they learn to treat others with gentleness, to be generous and to offer help when possible.

You and your child are important to us. Success depends on establishing an effective partnership between home and school. We will keep you informed of our progress and will suggest activities you can do at home to provide continuity with what we are doing at school.

We care deeply about being teachers. We feel honored to be part of your children's lives. We are also aware of the great responsibility we have as partners in teaching and nurturing your children.

"The child's progress does not depend only on his age, but also on being free to look around him." - Maria Montessori. With this quote of Maria Montessori, I go to give myself to the children at work, it is in my blood.

Kathy Lawrence

Hello, my name is Kathy Lawrence or Miss. Kathy as the children call me. I am the mother of four boys and one girl. My children are grown and have wonderful full lives of their own now. I am also the proud Grandma of 4 wonderful grandchildren ranging in ages from 3 to 13 years old. They are all my pride and joy! My interests and hobbies are spending time with my family, traveling and of course I love to scrapbook our memories.

Children have always been my passion. When my children were young I ran a family day care until they were all in school full time. Those were days full of fun and adventure. After my children were in school I went back to College and received my degree in Business Management to help my husband develop our own business. Once my children were grown and my husband closed the business I was finally able to work in my chosen field with children.

I again returned to College. This time around I received my degree in Child Development. I am certified Montessori Head Teacher and have taken intensive courses in Montessori training and believe the theories and philosophy of Maria Montessori are amazing and will benefit and nurture the love of learning for all children especially in the early years of development.

efore coming to Empire Montessori Preschool I taught at another Montessori school in San Jose for many years. Before that I worked with children with special needs. Both were extremely rewarding times in my life that I always treasure.

I am very excited to be working with your children and I look forward to meeting all of the children and parents that will be a part of our journey and adventures during our school year.

My name is Alma Luna. I'm married and I have a lovely caring 4 year old daughter.

I live in Sunnyvale, California. I have worked with young children since I was 16. Recently I had the opportunity to work in a Montessori school. I liked Maria Montessori's philosophy and I saw it as a fascinating way of raising my child. I took some classes and since then I have made Maria Montessori's Method a living style. "The child should live in an environment of beauty." - Maria Montessori.

My goal is to provide a rich and pleasing environment for the children under my care.

I was born in Sinaloa Mexico but raised in La Paz Baja Califoria. I enjoy taking walks in the sand. I find them relaxing and let me not forget the Ceviche as my favorite food. I currently live in San Jose.

I enjoy working with young children, so I made it my way of living, for 10 years now.

I took child development classes, then I was introduced to the Montessori Method which I found interesting, and since then I have committed to learn more about this philosophy and to serve the children to their success. Like Moaria Montessori said, "The child is both a hope and a promise for mankind." Montessori is amazing and will benefit and nurture the love of learning for all children, especially in the early years of development.

Before coming to Empire Montessori Preschool I taught at another Montessori school in San Jose for many years. Before that I worked with children with special needs. Both were extremely rewarding times in my life that I always treasure.
