Hi My name is Ms. Manjeet and I am the Toddler English Teacher here at EMP. I have thirteen years of experience working with children. For ten years I worked as a School-Age Teacher for a private school-age daycare located on the school campus. The school closed down and then I worked as a preschool teacher for one and a half years. My love of the young child led me to EMP where I have worked for two years. I love my job!! In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family. I have two children and love to garden, cook and walk my dog, a German Shepherd/Collie mix.
My name is Lucy Lin. I have been certified as a Montessori Head Teacher for almost two years. Although this is my first year to serve families in Empire Montessori School, my almost 10-years teaching experiences in traditional and Montessori settings make me feel excited to create Mandarin jobs in Montessori way for children to work with.
I was an English teacher of children at different ages, from prek to 9th grade, for many years when I was in my home country, Taiwan. After working with children for seven years, I have recognized that good early education can matter a lot to young children's cognitive, emotional, and physical development. In order to further my knowledge about early childhood education, I majored in Child Development in San iose State University and took ECE classes in San Jose City College as well. In 2006, I was awarded with my second bachelor diploma in CD. However, in consideration of learning strategies to help young children with academic challenges, I continued my study in graduate level in Counseling Education and graduated in 2009. ln the same year, I also obtained my Teacher Permit.
Yet, my teaching experiences in Montessori preschool witnessed to me that a well- prepared learning environment is the most significant factor to foster children's positive development in academy and psychology. Therefore, I registered into the Montessori Teaching Credential program. Through the training, I understood even more about the role of a teacher in a Montessori classroom: the teacher should be not only an observer but also a preparer. As an observer, he/she observes the child's progress in the learning setting and provides the child with appropriate activities; as a preparer, he/she prepares variations and extensions to further the child's learning.
I have been a California resident for more than 13 years. In my family, there are four members, my husband, me, and my two grown-up sons (one is doing his graduate study in Math while the other is a senior in college). During my studies, my husband and my two sons were my critical supporters. Without them, I am not able to be who I am now. In my spare time, there are a variety of activities that I like to do. They include playing tennis, swimming, doing yoga, practicing Chinese calligraphy, playing Chinese traditional musical instruments (such as Chinese bamboo flute and Chinese Pipa), and learning new songs for children.
Hi Everyone! My name is Ms. La and I am a preschool teacher in Green Room. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring outdoors, watching movies, hiking, fishing, camping and watching my daughter's basketball games. When I have time I also enjoy knitting, cooking, and just relaxing.
I enjoy working with children and will continue to do my best.
I earned my teaching credential in Early Childhood Development at San Jose City College. I have been trained in Montessori Program at Montessori Teacher Education Center in Sunnyvale California. I obtain my work experience in child care at Sunshine Montessori, Head Start, San Juan Bautista CDC and Bright Horizons. I am dedicated about my vocation and will continuously yearn to further my knowledge in Early Childhood Education. I enjoy working at Empire Montessori because our classrooms provide a quality environment where children are free to respond to their natural tendency to work.
Maria Montessori said, “The child, making use of what he finds around him, shapes himself for the future, ” and to become a part of each child learning experience is priceless.
In my spare time I like to lend a helping hand at Sacred Heart and Second Harvest Food Bank. My hobbies are reading, baking and outdoor activities. I am happily married and have two wonderful sons. My oldest son Somnang loves sports and my youngest son Sombath loves to go fishing. They both inspire me to become a humble and thankful person each and every day.
Hi! i'm Alice and I am from Toronto, Canada but moved to the Bay Area in early July of 2013. Prior to this, I lived and worked in Taiwan and Shanghai for about 4-years.
I received my Early Childhood Montessori credential from the Montessori Teacher Education Center of Bay Area, and will continue to expand my knowledge and skills by studying the Infant and Toddler program.
In essence, I became a teacher because I believe that the children are our future. As Dr. Maria Montessori said, "The child is both the hope and a promise for mankind."
